A Clear, Thoughtful Way to Plan and Build Your Renovation

At Donmoyer Construction, we follow a proven design-build process that helps homeowners in Woodstock and Oxford County move forward with clarity, confidence, and realistic expectations - before construction ever begins.

Why Our Process Is Different

Most renovation stress comes from decisions being made too late.
Layouts, finishes, budgets, and expectations often get finalized after construction starts - when changes are expensive and emotions run high.

Our process flips that script.

We invest time up front to design, plan, and price your project properly so construction can run smoother, faster, and with fewer surprises.

  1. Connect & Explore

Understanding Your Goals, Your Home, and the Right Path Forward

We begin with a conversation and an in-home visit focused on understanding your home, your goals, and how you want the space to function.

During this step, we:

  • Listen carefully to your priorities

  • Offer early insight based on similar projects

  • Confirm that your project aligns with our approach and expertise

This step is about fit and direction, not design or pricing decisions.

2. Budget Alignment

Establishing a Realistic Investment Framework

Following the home visit, we prepare a Budget Range Estimate grounded in current market pricing and comparable projects.

Rather than providing a premature “quote,” this step establishes a realistic investment framework so design decisions are made with clarity.

You can expect:

  • An honest budget range

  • Clear discussion around scope and finish level

  • Early alignment before moving into design

3. Concept Design

Defining the Direction Before Committing

The Concept Design phase allows us to explore layout, flow, and overall design direction before any final commitments are made.

This phase is intentionally collaborative and exploratory.

We use it to:

  • Test layout options

  • Clarify priorities and trade-offs

  • Refine scope in response to real design decisions

The investment is revisited as the concept develops to ensure alignment remains intact.

This phase is a discovery and confirmation process, not a final price or rushed decision.

4. Detailed Planning

Turning the Vision Into a Build-Ready Plan

With the concept approved, we move into detailed planning. This is where every meaningful decision is documented and coordinated before construction begins.

This phase includes:

  • Architectural and technical drawings

  • Finish and fixture selections

  • Trade partner input and walkthroughs

  • A finalized scope and fixed-price construction agreement

5. Build

A Controlled, Well-Managed Construction Phase

Construction begins only after the planning work is complete. We manage the details, communication, and quality so the process feels organized, predictable and completed to our standard.

You can expect:

  • Clear communication throughout the build

  • Professional job site management

  • Attention to detail and craftsmanship

  • Proactive issue resolution

Fewer decisions are required during construction because the work has already been thoughtfully planned.
